Sunny,
What kind of features do you want in a PDA? I have used most of the models -- except for the RIMM product line.
There are big differences in 1) color screen, 2) memory, 3) applications, 4) email capability, 5) real time internet access, 6) ease of use, 7) flash memory card, etc.
Not knowing your situation: I would focus upon 3 models -- a) Palm Vx, simple to use and problem-free (cost of about $400; it uses the Palm O/S), b) Handspring Deluxe if you want to be economical and want to have a module slot (cost of about $250; it uses the Palm O/S), or c) Compaq iPaq H3650 (about $500, never in stock, but is a thing of beauty; it uses the Microsoft C/E Operating System).
I truly believe the Palm O/S is the best O/S in the PDA community. I believe, however, that Compaq/HWP/Microsoft offer way more applications on their PDA's. It's not an easy choice. You need to decide what you need in a PDA, how much you want to spend (your product will be outdated soon after your purchase - much like your computer), and what applications you need.
I know that I use the following application on my HWP545 PDA, that simply aren't available on a Palm: Microsoft Money program, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and an e-book program. The ability to listen to music is also available on the C/E O/S models.
Good to hear from you. Have a great day. ad |
