QuickLogic Joins Intel Communications Alliance; QuickLogic's Technology Provides Ideal Solution for Coupling Intel's Embedded Processors with Emerging Technologies
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb 23, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: QUIK), the pioneer of Embedded Standard Products, today announced they have joined the Intel(R) Communications Alliance (ICA), a community of communications and embedded developers and solutions providers committed to the development of modular, standards-based solutions based on Intel technologies.
"Joining the ICA will forge a tighter communication between Intel and QuickLogic, enabling QuickLogic to bring complementary solutions to market faster and offer customers a competitive advantage," said Tom Hart, QuickLogic's Chairman, President and CEO. "The value of QuickLogic's programmable connectivity solutions aligns with Intel's success in high volume mobile consumer applications."
When embedded processors are architected and designed, they typically include appropriate peripheral interfaces for targeted vertical application segments. As a consequence, they are not always able to seamlessly adopt technology driven by the PC market. QuickLogic's industry leading, low-power programmable products complement the Intel PXA application processor with Intel XScale(R) technology by providing system connectivity that is not supported internally. They are particularly appropriate for power critical applications such as mobile, handheld appliances, and computing peripherals.
As a result of joining the Intel Communications Alliance, QuickLogic plans to announce further embedded solutions based on Intel's technology in the coming months.
About QuickLogic
QuickLogic Corporation (Nasdaq: QUIK) invented and has pioneered the Embedded Standard Product (ESP) architecture, with the introduction of first products in 1998. ESPs are semiconductor devices that deliver the guaranteed performance, lower cost and lower risk of standard products, coupled with the flexibility and time-to-market benefits of programmable logic. QuickLogic's proprietary ViaLink metal-to-metal interconnect technology offers significant benefits -- including low power at high performance levels -- to our customers and is the foundation of our ESP product families, as well as our core FPGA products. Founded in 1988, the company is located at 1277 Orleans Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089-1138. For more information please visit the QuickLogic web site at www.quicklogic.com.
