Well, Andrew, I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Bruce today. He was in fine spirits, and was quite informative.
The company is preparing a comprehensive news release/update that should be available within a week or so. Still, I will keep my promise and post the conversation.
KALIMANTAN
They are still awaiting the drill results from the German Workings.
The holes they sank into the bedrock in Sungairaya are not back in, but he really didn't seem too enthusiastic about the visuals. (They were following up on some 3-3.5% Cu earlier chip samples.)
They are continuing airborne recon, geophysical, trenching and mapping, petrographic studies, etc. in order to find the center of the mineralization. They will be doing additional deep drilling (this time) once they have better isolated the center.
AFRICA
Things are definately picking up in Zimbawe. Bruce was especially excited about the Tafuna Hills claim. So much so that he wants to get over there as soon as possible to push things forward.
It is known that there are 14-15 gold bearing quartz veins that have already yielded significant amounts of gold to date. Also, there are locals who currently make a living mining gold on the property. There is a rich alluvial style deposit at the base of the hill indicating substantial mineralization which is also pan mined by the locals.
The prior commercial work occurred in the period 1900-1930 using shafts that went down only to about 100 feet. The mine was then shut down due to a decline in the price of gold. This highly mineralized property has never been drilled, nor explored below about 100 feet.
Mandorin intends to pursue a highly aggressive drill program in Zimbawe that will begin with the Tafuna Hills property. They do have a drill rig in country and are hoping to begin drilling on this property in the near future.
If you have studied the property map, you may have noticed that the Tafuna Hills property is immediately adjacent to the famous Ashanti propery. My own guess is that it is only about 1.5 kilometers away.
That pretty much covers it. As I said you can expect a comprehensive update from the company within a week.
