$4K raise? Small potatoes compared to the Chief Executive's perquisites. Check this out:

Florida Today: Choosing a team to build the new fleet of helicopters to fly the president has become a vitriol-laced, hyper-politicized battle involving two veteran aerospace companies...Experts say the contract to build 23 helicopters, which the Navy is expected to award in mid-December, would be worth $920 million to $1.15 billion. Each chopper could cost $40 million to $50 million -- four or five times what a typical battle helicopter might cost.

AND...

USA Today: Supporters of a $388 billion spending bill passed by Congress over the weekend call it a lean measure that restrains domestic spending. It includes $2 million for the government to buy back the presidential yacht USS Sequoia.

A presidential yacht ($2 mill) and 23 new presidential helicopters ($40 mill EACH). Now THAT's fiscal restraint, W-style!

Compare that to the modest House raise, which is not even 3%. Makes them look like pikers.
