Happy New Year! The big jump on Yeltsin's resignation shows how much the Russian markets are governed by emotion. Unless Putin and the new parliament can make progress on basic infrastructure reforms, especially re. taxation, shareholder rights, and civil law enforcement, the Russian people are likely to be disappointed. TRF will inevitably follow the emotional ups and downs of the Russian people.
