Serena Software to buyback 400,000 shrs Reuters Story - August 19, 1999 16:27 marketwatch.newsalert.com BURLINGAME, Calif., Aug 19 (Reuters) - Software and services company Serena Software Inc., said on Thursday its board approved the repurchase of up to 400,000 shares of common stock, representing about 2 percent of its outstanding shares. "Our Board of Directors and management believe that repurchasing stock at current stock prices is an excellent use of cash given our solid financial condition and long term growth outlook," Richard Doerr, the company's chief executive officer, said. The company's stock closed down $0.38 at $10.13 on Nasdaq. He noted that Serena will use the reacquired shares for reissuance in connection with employee stock programs and general corporate purposes.
