step1, thanks for the japan short sale info. i believe what you have explained. however check this out from last nights press on the japan short sale info. this quote is about halfway down the link below under short selling rule. this link was one source of japan reading material. "The government will now allow short sales only at a price higher than the most recently traded price, and some traders said the rule was proving to be a psychological wall." that is why it looks like an uptick to me. this input may be bogus. biz.yahoo.com
