Carlos Santana: Useful Idiot

Blogs for Bush

Guitarist Carlos Santana appeared at the recent Oscars wearing a Che T-shirt and a crucifix. Those of us who know the unrelenting and brutal war against Christianity that the communist/terrorist/thug Che conducted find this, well, a bit offensive. Val Prieto over at Babalu Blog brings to our attention a letter sent to Santana by a Cuban American in a position to really know about Che and Christians. An excerpt gives the gist of it:

The guerilla with the starred beret is much more than what's depicted in that ridiculous motorcycle movie, my famous colleague, and combining Che Guevara with Christ would be like entering a synagogue wearing a Swastika necklace. And it is also a slap in the face to those young Cubans who in the '60s had to hide to be able to listen to your records, Imperialist music, as Rock & Roll was defined in the slang of the Argentinian tramp and his partisans.
>>>

Couldn't have said it better myself. Che Guevara was a murdering pig, and a coward into the bargain; running away in each battle he "fought" in and cravenly surrendering himself saying "don't shoot, I'm worth more to you alive than dead" when the Bolivian military caught up with him. He was wrong; he was worthless to everyone.

And, by the way, Carlos Santana is about the most boring guitarist I've ever has the misfortune to be stuck listening to when I can't switch the radio station fast enough.
