OFF TOPIC

"No doubt" is exactly right, but even more for the recognition than the synthesis.

What'll be even more demanding is future high-quality digital echo cancellation and voice/noise differentiation, so that one could (say) roam around the house while talking with the computer, while the dishwasher is going and the kids are playing. Star Trek scenarios are coming soon, at least wrt the audio user interface. ("Computer, how much is Applied selling for now?" [Majel Barrett voice:] "Applied Materials is continuing to drop rapidly." "Fine. Secure a real-time full home equity loan, adjustable rate, and direct all proceeds to Applied equity immediately." :^> )

This'll be cheap, net, for consumers and businesses. But so far as CPU cyles go, it'll be incredibly expensive.
