T.R. this are some references regarding our oun choices God has entrusted us to make: Deut. 11:26, 30:15, 30:19, Dan 9:10 (this one has to do with the consequence of not obeying or not choosing what God said). May be the person you are talking to needs to pick up the Bible for themselves and study the subject in debt, and I am sure that God is able to open his/her eyes. I also suggest that if the person is a nonbeliever they can read Ecclesiastes since that is from the point of view of some one with out hope or reason for life apart from God. Regards Joshua
