HEWITT - CNN tried to get me to break from vacation to do an interview on Target's exile of Salvation Army, but I declined. I am sure Lou Dobbs did a fine job without me. But the request raises a couple of questions.



First, the story has been around and growing since the week before Thanksgiving. Talk about behind the news curve.



Second, do you think CNN will get around to the Groningen Protocol next week, as that story surfaced about a week after the Target controversy commenced?



Finally, the lateness on the Target story and the still near perfect silence on Groningen underscores how cloistered the bigs have become. There is an cure for producers' isolation syndrome: Read the blogs --about twenty-five a day, divided between left and right. Then the producers won't be so woefully under-informed.
