Re: I guess that means that you agree that millions of people want to live in the US or become US citizens. And we can conclude that the reason why is because the US is a great country to live in and raise children in. Thanks for that endorsement Gustave.
The USA as an "immigration haven" is not an irreversible trend....
"Before 1920, about 30 percent of all immigrants to the United States later returned to their native country. Today, about 15 percent return home. Some immigrants intend to stay in a new country temporarily and then go back home. But others go back because they find adjusting to a new society too difficult. (Source: The World Book Encyclopedia, Volume 10, Page 82)."

It was estimated that about 60% of all Italian immigrants in the 1920s and 1930s went back home... For that matter, history seems to repeat itself in the case of Chinese immigrants: more and more of them who have graduated in prestigious US universities (computer sciences, engineering, management,...) return to Greater China (mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong) --granted, partly because of the "tech boom-and-bust".
Besides, another incentive China has over America is that China is not run by Judeo-Protestant freaks. The Chinese leadership doesn't view itself as God's exclusive franchise on earth... They don't give a hoot about God not blessing China. Then there's the current systemic crisis of Judeo-Protestant capitalism --Enron, WorldCom, Arthur Andersen,... in the aftermath of the tech bubble burst. Do you still have a bait to lure the would-be millionaires who long to make it thru the Silicon-Valley-Wall-Street path?
