It was my understanding that the whole reason behind DWDM in the first place in the long haul transport area was to increase bandwidth without having to lay new fiber. But in the metro space, that is not the case? You have to completely replace (or at least add to) the existing fiber to use DWDM? I thought that just like long haul, the fiber stayed the same, but other parts of the system needed to be changed/upgraded. Guess it is back to metro school for me....<g>
