I remember 24" of snow on the ground for 2 weeks in 1969. My mother and I had just returned home from a 6 month sail in the South Pacific. We stayed in my Grandparents 23 foot travel trailer until the contract was up for the people that were renting our house. We thought we'd be gone longer.

I didn't get home from work until 10:15 on December 18, 1996. I was giving the sand in my trunk to stranded motorists, being offered hot chocolate by families lining the grid lock choked road, and finally having to ask a prefect stranger if I could use her bathroom.

The only reason I remember the exact date is because I won 5 out of 6 on the Lotto, and was thrilled that my Christmas presents were going to be paid off in full.
