If you can't do that you can't become president. McCain's vision in this regard is not coherent. That is why he is losing. Obama in this regard has not closed the deal. I suspect he is on the same page with me, but I think he is just playing it safe. He thinks he has the lead and does not have to go out on the limb. But I think he should explain the situation to Joe the plumber. If he can explain it so that Joe can understand it, then the race is over.
