Hi Tenchusatsu:

The facts are there for all to see. I don't follow Intel so I can't say if there has been a similar period in recent history where they have lost their leadership role in the microprocessor marketplace and at the same time floundered to the degree that they have since October, as is apparent to most, in attempting to regain their leadership role.

The writing is clearly there for all to see. When the negative slide begins, it usually builds up signnificant momentum, a momentum that cannot be halted and turned around in a short period. That almost 4 months have elapsed and no resolution is apparent is probably an unpleasant precedent for Intel. I would hope for the sake of Intel longterm devotees that this past 4 months is not a harbinger of what is likely in the next 4 months...but I wouldn't risk betting that a miracle solution is just around the corner for Intel...

AMD and Intel are 2 companies within the microprocessor marketplace that are currently moving in opposite directions based on my perception of events that have transpired over the past 6 months. AMD has moved up the MHz gradient from 500 to 800 with relative ease and apparent high yields...Intel is stuck at 733 with its PWeeIII as production of meaningful quantities at 733 and higher continues to elude them.
