It's interesting, most here rail against government care and how big the hole for Medicare is. BUT, when it comes to 50k/100k per year drug regimens, the consensus seems to be that they MUST be available.

I find the apparent obliviousness to that particular inconsistency fascinating.

But I think the point is that, if we had only private health care, there wouldn't be an inconsistency. Government wouldn't be making the decision of whether to pay or to ration so it's a non-issue. It's all about who has control, the individual or the government.
