During this time of year, buy value as you find it if it looks like it has been hit by tax-loss selling. Especially in the small caps, the last few years have been very kind to me following this strategy. Trying to estimate the tax-loss trough is difficult. Last year I had some rallying in November and others waiting until January. This year, HealthSouth appears to be a prime candidate for a move up, as does the entire REIT sector.
