Netscalar offers hardware that manages tasks such as redirection to multiple servers that appear to be one. (They compete in this space with F5.) They have caching hardware, SSL VPN, and Global server balancing. Also a layer 4 - 7 switch. This allows them to use VLANs and queues based on application layer parameters. Think blocking Kaaza, while prioritizing VOIP.

Imagine SI with servers in Maryland and Nevada with load balancing hardware fronting while data replication was running in the background on twin SANs. Cool huh?

IMO Citrix was also interested in the SSL VPN. This would make the third VPN solution they have bought, if memory serves me.
