Unlike President Obama, U.S. voters think the United States is at war with radical Islamic terrorism and remain wary of the Islamic religion as a whole.

Half (49%) of Likely U.S. Voters still believe Islam as practiced today encourages violence more than most other religions, although that’s down slightly from 52% earlier this year. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 29% say that’s not true, while 21% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on November 23-24, 2015 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
