Mary, I am all for doing the math. Come up with some equation. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys? But using a broad brush to tarnish innocent people is not right. TI=(level of Killing people + # incidents glorifying death in media + inciting violence by religious leaders)/(societal pressure to stop - indicated by editorials or sermons) Where TI is the Terror Index. There is no broad based societal pressure against violence in Islamic society. Some yes, but as an example any number of polls show substantial support among Palestinians for suicide bombers. Apply the equation to the Amish, the Roman Catholic Church or even for our most prejudiced Blue staters - Southern Baptists. In all of these cases the number will be far less than one, in most ME societies it will be far greater than one. In the West Bank it might be approaching infinity... John
