Karen, He could reasonably have not known she was illegal. I have had to hire help recently and when interviewing prospective domestic help its not rocket science to request a Social Security card and proof of eligibility to work. In fact its good, sound legal advise.... Now if she had such documentation and it was fraudulent, thats a different story. Individuals do not have the resources to do background checks for this kind of employee. John
