Animal-Rights Activist Killed While Trying to Free Turkeys

AUSTIN, TX - Nathaniel Hopkins, turkey farmer, was surprised this morning by a grizzly site in his turkey coop. He found the bloody body of local resident and animal rights activist, River Moonshadow.

Apparently Moonshadow had broken into Hopkins turkey coop in order to free the birds before the annual Thanksgiving slaughter. While in the coop, Moonshadow tripped and fell. The turkeys, not knowing the he was there to free them, attacked the intruder and pecked him to death.

Moonshadow's common-law wife, Crystal Herbsipper, told BNN "Turkeys have lost a crusader. They have lost a man whose only desire was to see them running wild on the plains of America like they used to before evil white Europeans had created Thanksgiving. I'm sure that if these birds weren't as dumb as rocks they would have known that River was there to free them and wouldn't have killed him."
