"Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike?

If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option. "

Clearly, GWB acknowldges that the threat is not imminent and that we need to act before it becomes so.

I have seen the Moveon.org clip. At worst, it shows Rumsfeld using imprecise language that does not match that of the President. Movon.org was kind enough to cut out Rumsfeld's response so a conclusion is not possible based on their political ad. Apparently the response does not suit there agenda.

Regardless, it is a leap of Grand Canyon proportion to go from a poorly worded statement from Rumsfeld, to GWB declaring that Iraq was an imminent threat, especially since GWB acknowledges that the threat from Iraq is not yet immenent. Saying that GWB declared Iraq an imminent threat is the DNC attempt to rewrite history.

John Kerry's own words reveal his intent, his actions confirm it.
