Seagate Beats Out Other 10,000-rpm Drives in Review, Providing Best Price/Performance Ratio
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Seagate Technology Inc. (NYSE: SEG - news) captured a major product award recently
when VAR Business, one of the industry's leading technology publications, celebrated the Cheetah 18LP as its top pick of 10,000-rpm hard drives
appearing in its product review. The Cheetah 18LP's performance blew past Fujtisu's and Quantum's 10,000-rpm drives, with throughput -- the rate
at which data can be transferred by the drive -- at a level that is ''unmatched.'' The Cheetah's faster throughput means that users can retrieve their
information more quickly and save their data in less time; when multiplied by the large number of people and drives that are typically networked to
enterprise storage, the cost savings for a company can grow very quickly.
''In a repeat of last year's performance, the Cheetah turned in the fastest transfer rates of all drives reviewed,'' hailed VAR Business in its July 5,
