IMHO there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for a QUALIFIED young person to not go to college. If a kid works hard, makes top grades, does the National Honor Society thing etc etc he/she will get a scholarship, and if they are poor it will be all the more. My son was a top student from DAY ONE. We were very involved in his schooling. Well, he got scholarships all the way through college even though in our case we really didnt HAVE to have them (but it was NICE TO HAVE). After undergraduate degree he not only got scholarships but was PAID to go to school. I provide expensive extras like Car etc. but he really could accomplish all he wants even without my help. jdn
