It's what you would expect from a nation of 100 million people who live on 6 square miles of limestone with 4 hedges, one square yard of grass, and 5 oak trees. They haven't much room to do anything so they get into odd pursuits. When they had a worldwide empire their population was 6 million people and they thought that was way too much, so they sent everybody overseas to form colonies. Now that they can't do that, or don't seem to want to, they are going potty. You would think that millions would be applying to go to Australia, US and Canada for adventure and elbow room. Well, Canada won't le them in as it has a fr. gov't. (see Manley's remarks about the Queen etc..) and I guess they think the competition from Kangaroos is too heavy in other places, and getting mugged in US cities is more likely than London. They have definitely lost their sense of adventure. Except in certain areas it seems. If you talk to br. expats in the bush (Kanader) they all seem agog at how much country there is. They don't seem to understand that our govirnmint won't let us use it. Perhaps we need more Rhino clubs to teach us how to breed smarter poiticians.
