Dear Jill: Several "Experts" I have read estimate it would take at least a 1% increase in the rate to begin to slow this economy down. That would not be good for the market though and would really wreak havoc on our trade imbalance as $$ would shoot through the roof.
Here is food for thought though. There is a general contractor on the aol thread and he is actually hoping for tightening. He says the economy is SO HOT he cant find decent labor to build houses. Said anyone wishing to build a new house today is going to get a lot of crap and it will take a long time. JDN
