John, Welcome to this thread and thanks for your contributions. It didn't take you long to figure out David S. Five year old Aaron, who was born HIV positive, and his father must be grateful to companies like Aguouron that have developed drugs for children, and that went to bat so that Aaron could receive Viracept, even though they could not afford it (Life, July 7). The market share for children with AIDS is small and there is not as much incentive for drug companies to develop a pediatric version. Didn't Agouron also say they would make the drug available for those who could not afford it (after they got FDA approval).
