More on Cole.

Anti-Semitism with Tenure

By fred

Professor Juan Cole, of the Department of History at the University of Michigan, is a quack by any definition. Campus Watch, which documents incidents of anti-Semetic, anti-Israel, and anti-American bias on U.S. college campuses has long documented Cole's increasingly irresponsible, factually innacurate, and inanely conspiratorial rantings.

On Sunday, Cole reached a new low of anti-Semetism. Please read the following quote very carefully:

"The Iraqi killer of Reserve Navy Lt. Kylan Jones-Huffman has been brought to justice in an Iraqi court. Although he has since changed his story, he at one point admitted to killing Jones-Huffman with a bullet through the back of the neck while the latter was stuck in traffic in downtown Hilla. The assassin said that he felt that Jones-Huffman "looked Jewish." The fruits of hatred sowed in the Middle East by aggressive and expansionist Israeli policies in the West Bank and Gaza against the Palestinians and in south Lebanon against Shiites continue
to be harvested by Americans."

Essentially, Prof. Cole is blaming Israel because an Iraqi anti-Semite murdered an American. I certainly hope that the next time a racist murders an Arab, Prof. Cole will blame Saudi Arabia for oppressing women. Somehow I don't think so.
