I do study the Bible with the intent of bettering my relationship with God. I believe that the guiding principles and laws found within it are for my benefit. As 'God is teaching us to benefit ourselves'. Too, it is important that we show our appreciation for the death of his Son. My faith is strongly grounded on the belief that Jesus died and was resurrected. It is his resurrection to heavenly life that guides my hope in God's Kingdom where he is now governing. In order to be an earthly subject of that kingdom it is essential that we follow its rules.
