Tony, RE: This Dell/DRAM thing has me scratching my head.

Clearly the big spike in DRAM prices occurred more than 2 weeks ago, not last week as DELL maintained last night. I think that they're now making up an excuse because they failed to warn analysts during the meeting a couple of weeks ago. Back then, I think that DELL thought that they could get lucky and pull out the quarter. Now, less than 2 weeks before the end of the quarter, it is apparent that they cannot.

This reinforces my thought that DELL management may be the most overrated management in corporate America. They have mismanaged crises in the past, and it appears that they are mismanaging the current situation.
