There is one Daley with some common sense:

Chicago Mayor Daley Says for Gore, 'It's Over'

Gore campaign manager Bill Daley may be willing to fight on if Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris certifies a Bush win sometime on Saturday. But his brother, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley Jr., says that Gore should get ready to throw in the towel.

Asked Friday morning what should happen if Bush holds or widens his lead after all of Florida's absentee ballots are counted, Mayor Daley told WLS radio in Chicago:

"It's over with. Whoever's behind, that's the election. I mean, that's the whole thing. Remember, it's 300 votes, it's so close. I mean - and so, that will be it. Whoever's ahead."

The Daley audio, which is sure to cause consternation in the Gore camp, not to mention the Daley household, was aired in New York by WABC radio's Sean Hannity.

Later in the interview Mayor Daley tried to amend his remarks but, said Hannity, "it was too late, the damage was done."
