Why would you expect less, than bickering amongst your selves? Canada is not a homogeneous population, its a semi melting pot with a ton of oligarchic malfeasance locked in. Diverse Populations as constrained by boundaries need degrees of freedom more than anything else. Canadians are at once strongly independent, while being mostly, bought and paid for. Thats a dichotomy that sets the tone for the cultural dialog. The fierce independence is expressed by disconnect from government policy, its manifested by 1,000,000s of small acts of subversion against predator government.
