Why would you expect less I don't expect less.. been like that my entire life.. only difference is the west has the good cards now..... Bigger population .. more bickering and less effective democracy IMO.. , greater opportunities for some of malfeasance you mention.. its manifested by 1,000,000s of small acts of subversion against predator government. Yes.. We had lots of government ads promoting folks to snitch on those in the underground economy.. didn't work well.. Semi melting pot.. .. more now than ever.. trending away from melting pot.. In total, 32 per cent of Canadians called themselves Canadian, a decrease from the last census, when 39 per cent listed themselves as Canadian. Not many Canadians in Canada.. Quebec a large contributor to that though.. not just newcomers.. cbc.ca
