Thats exactly the reason I too felt Rummy should stay. His ideas of a fast, maneuverable military makes a lot of sense to me. Of course the MYRIADS of Generals and other capital officers probably dont like it as it probably reduces the need for so many INDIAN chiefs. I am sort of surprised that they dont just increase the USMC by another division to 4. We had SIX during WWII but only 3 for a very long time. Type of actions we seem to be getting into lately seem to me to be right up the marines alley. One more Marine Division and double the size of the Special Forces and the Military Police and I think we would be better set to handle all but MAJOR wars which appear unlikely to ever occur again as the weapons are just TOO DEADLY. jdn
