Obviously they have to keep the FCC satisfied. Thus they put this dog and pony show of these 4000 lines a day. Now are there 4000 new people getting an ADSL every day? or Are there shelves and cards deployed in the CO's across America that could address 4000 ADSL users? , do you really think SBC,VZ are spending lost money to buy all this DSL gears from vendors just b/c their what to satisfied FCC? do you think they have nothing better to do then wasting million of $ for what you claim to be smokescreen. this is capitalism my friend not communism, where lot of things were done for no particular reason. take off your dark glasses!
