CNBC reported that there was a rumor among traders that CSCO would miss/warn, thus some of the sell-off at the end in the techs (especially CSCO). For the last couple of years, Wall Street rumors have been common about Intel warning/missing, it would always hit the stock before earnings. Ironically, I don't think there were any rumors this quarter when they actually did miss. If the rumor was "created" by a short seller, it was well conceived. A CSCO warning coupled with an Intel miss, a Dell warning and an IBM disaster would certainly unnerve the market about the entire sector. John
