I've got the new John le Carre novel, The Mission Song, on my shelf to read. It's a library copy but I have about two weeks left. I keep kicking it back to second or third on the reading list because I discover I've grown tired of his novels in recent years. I keep reading them, sort of. Skimming is more like it. But each time I decide whether to check the new one out, I remember just how good the early ones were. Anyone read it yet and have a view? Or, for that matter, haven't read it and have a view? One indication of his fall from grace is that there is no waiting list for this copy. I keep renewing it online. And, most likely, will continue to do so until someone asks for it. Or I decide to read/skim it.
