My takeoff point for this was your post #8960:

> The linnsoft product for Mac real time quotes is what I heard was very bad, and expensive.

Linnsoft (http://www.linnsoft.com/) is the company that makes Investor/RT for Mac and for Windows to access Interquote (http://www.interquote.com/), Signal, or BMI r/t services and other delayed or end-of-day quote services. Yes, it is expensive ($495) for the r/t versions but, to my knowledge, that is comparable to other r/t software packages.

In your post #8822, you say:

> I looked into Interquote and they offer nothing themselves, but a third party offers expensive software they say will work with that system. A friend of mine who uses a PC says that that software is truly awful and advised me against using it.

This is not quote right -- the Interquote service (provided by Paragon) can be accessed via 1) a browser to get a real-time snapshot each time you "reload" at Interquote's site, or 2) Interquote's Windows or Unix software or Linnsoft's Investor/RT for Mac or Windows to get tick-by-tick data. I'm not sure but I think other Windows packages might also be able to access Interquote. Was you friend talking about Investor/RT for Windows? If so, what did (s)he not like?

Does this clarify?
