Amid all the turmoil in the general markets, in a “man bites dog” moment (at least for this year so far) both biotech indices were positive vs a 2% slump in the NASDAQ composite. Fully half the contest portfolios were net positive for the week, and HORESINALFALFA pulled away from the rest of the leaders, ending up in the black for YTD.

Of course, it wasn’t a great week for everyone. PRQR dropped 74% for the week, ending up with the worst YTD performance of any portfolio choice, bad news for the three portfolios following it.

Almost the entire erasure happened literally overnight, probably related to a press release, entitled "ProQR Announces Top-Line Results from Phase 2/3 Illuminate Trial of Sepofarsen in CEP290-mediated LCA10": whose bullet points were:
Study did not meet primary endpoint nor notable secondary endpoints – no benefit observed in either treatment arm versus sham

Additional analyses to be conducted and presented at a future medical congress
Sepofarsen continues to be generally well tolerated
Strong cash position provides runway into mid- to late-2024

Oh well. I’m not sure how additional analyses could paint a better picture about the results.
