ANTEC Introduces TrackLink Management System System Monitors Headend Products and Alarm Conditions
ATLANTA, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ANTEC Network Technologies, the manufacturing division of ANTEC Corporation (Nasdaq:ANTC), will introduce TrackLink, an element management system for its Laser Link II series of optical transmission products, at the SCTE Show this week in Orlando, Florida.
In a cost-efficient package, TrackLink allows operators to perform configuration and fault management functions for a network of Laser Link II optical products in the headend. The system features a point-and-click driven graphical user interface that is intuitive and easy to use. A variety of screens provide real time status monitoring at the rack, mainframe or module level.
``As network elements become more sophisticated, operators are placing more emphasis on network and element management,'' said Tom Tighe, President, Active Electronics Group, ANTEC Network Technologies. ``This is ANTEC's first step towards providing element management across all of the active elements of an HFC network,'' said Tighe. ``The TrackLink system has been developed to interface to higher order network management packages, allowing operators to take a cost-effective, building-block approach to element network management.''
The graphical user interface allows users to access key module parameters, monitor product performance and conditions, and monitor and classify time and event specific alarms. Screens also detail specific alarm conditions, providing instantaneous values and historical views. A logical view provides a schematic of the entire network topology.
Additional features of the Element Management System include:
TMN compliant architecture; Compatible with the installed base of Laser Link II products; SNMP compatibility allows for communication with other
packages/protocols;
System features are customized by the user; Features multi-level security; Windows-based NT operating system.
ANTEC will feature a hands-on demonstration of TrackLink at booth #1174 at the SCTE Show.
