Corp., the leading provider of pen-based operating environments and application development tools, today announced that Global Data Granite Communications has licenced PenRight!'s operating environment and rapid application development tools for their new pen-based, touch screen, NOVAS hand-held computer. Global Data Granite Communications will have the ability to market, distribute, and resell PenRight!'s market leading pen-based operating environment and application development tools for the new NOVAS hand-held computer. By using PenRight!'s development tools and pen-based operating environment, Global Data Granite Communications gains instant access to thousands of vertical hand-held applications. This, combined with the capability to quickly create powerful new pen-based handheld applications, will allow NOVAS to quickly penetrate the market. The NOVAS' software and hardware architecture is based on industry standard specifications allowing existing PenRight! applications to be directly ported to the unit with minimum configuration requirements. Over 1,200 leading VARs, system integrators and corporate developers have used PenRight!'s development environment to create applications for a variety of industries such as route accounting, transportation, healthcare, retail, inventory management, public safety, utilities, pharmaceutical, and many other mobile data collection fields. PenRight!'s cross platform application development environment for pen-based computing solutions focuses on the unique requirements of creating powerful solution for the mobile worker. Optimized for the mobile market, PenRight! based applications run faster, require less memory and realize longer battery life than any other pen-based visual development tools.
