LB, Other than that one case of vandalism where some nativity figures were stolen, the area around Tampa is showing none of the problems I have seen mentioned elsewhere. There are religious symbols on stores, in neighborhoods, and even on taxi cabs.
The 4 years I have lived around here, I have seen a great deal of tolerance for any display of any religion. It's kind of a live, and let live, place. As a result, there have been very few incidents, and most of them are not anywhere around during the holiday season. Some drugged up junkie set a church on fire one time, but he couldn't even remember why he did it.
I will always believe that there is enough room for all faiths, and beliefs on the earth, but the problem factor is in the minds of people who cannot seem to think with the brain in their heads. Intolerance is a product of ignorance, IMO |
