I don't really subscribe to the idea that BLS is part of a vast government conspiracy to make inflation more benign that it actually is. If you haven't read the data at shadowstats.com and what John Williams is actually doing with his CPI corrections, I urge you to. I also urge you to keep in mind that conspiracy does not always mean a smoke filled back room. Things like the law of unintended consequences and government not exactly being known as telling the full truth also apply. (edit/add - yikes, I just read the rest of his "points"... sigh)
