SUNW - anyone on this thread think it is worth investing in? Is Java dead in the water? Are Win NT workstations going to kill the whole concept of the network computer? It seems to me that anyone who wants to use MS Office documents will prefer a Win NT enviroment to Java-based NCs? Am I right?
I have owned MSFT since earlier this year. I have been buying and holding from high quality stocks on the Money 30 and Wired 40 lists, and, among those I have bought, MSFT has been a winner which I intend to continue to hold.
I wonder about the broader markets and E. Asia. Among my holdings are INTC, MSFT, CSCO, HD, ATI, GE, MTC, AIG, AMGN, YHOO, AOL, BRKB, LU, DELL, QWST, INCY... and I intend to hold those stocks for a loooong time... 5-10 years, maybe longer (though some, like the last 4, I will review on a yearly basis). Anyway, if Asia gets much worse, the world goes into a recession/ depression... in the US: will it be a general market pullback, a sector pullback, or will stocks such as those I am holding continue to do well?
My sense is that, as recently, large, strong, well run companies out in front of the hi tech revolution, evolving at Internet speeds, will continue to grow and do well. What do you think? |
