It's the standard Environmental "Litany" plus exaggerations, John. Erroneous Computer models that the Greens get politically accepted.

The problem that the left has is that when it started down the "Environmental" road as a way to control Capitalism, it got into a "Doing God's Work" syndrome and put out a lot of nonsense. Now it has a "Crying Wolf" reputation.

The Plant regulations were a way the left saw to stop the upgrading of old plants. What they have done with Power Plant law is the same as if you and I went into a Car Dealer for a tuneup and got told that a law had been passed to require us to overhaul the engine instead. At the same time, of course, the left made it extremely hard to build new plants. The idea behind it was, "We will force people to conserve energy!" That didn't work, of course.

The attitude of the left is always, "Oh, those dirty Capitalists can afford it, let them take it out of their obscene profits!" So now Californians are paying triple prices for electricity and still have blackouts.

The left has the upper hand on this issue. The run the schools, and for the last forty years, they have indoctrinated our kids on TV and in school with false environmental info. So Bush loses votes when he does the right thing.
