I need help with an annoying habit my squirrels have taken up this year! Encircling an enormous pecan tree in my front yard is a flower bed filled with yellow Lantana. I lost 2 plants to the cold last year so I replanted. Well, I have come out to find them dug up....twice already. What can I do to keep the squirrels from destroying these two new plants...again?! I do not want to harm the squirrels, of course, but I have this bald spot in the flower bed that is an eyesore! Someone suggested sprinkling red pepper around the new plants. TIA for any assistance!
