HI Kate:, I belive you hit the nail on the head..AVNT or any that's margined gets hit hard then others stocks owned by big holders of what took a hit can also take a beating, I knew this sort of thing happened as a result of margins, but it didn't click in my mind to see who got hit hard by such and such, and what else could be in line. You explained it very well, I also didn't know Amerindo had AVNT..but it makes sence. ----------------------- Still the volume on psix was not so heavy today, and a lot of the Naz was down. --------------- BTW..I've been visiting with my ISP guru..he does not invest in stocks..says over the years he's found them to fickle. He is a tech guru and a half..and has been software developer for years, works on his own, ,and gets all the work he wants. He told me how he's seen many neat things come down, and if they don't get support they fail..whats good and whats best often does not win in the tech theator, it has to have a base. Any way what I'm leading up to..he sees the strong probability of wireless local loop cathing on. It can do all sort of neat things, and being he put in a server and set himself up as an ISP..he is looking at it hard and has a couple of units on order to test out. The real hassel with ISPs, and the biggest expence is the local telco. You have to have a comercial line run in for every modem you put on, and you pay comercial rates..and the telcos want to up that so individuals also pay a ( modem fee ), lot of action and reaction to all that. BUT my guru sees the wireless local loop as a way to do an endrun around the local telcos...if this thing works it'l be the hottest internet play to ever come along..he seems to think it will..and with his tech experance..if it can work he'l make it do so. To hear him talk you hook up to the little box..and it's like you have speeds just as if you were typing on his server..no delay like the modems have..you become part of the loop just as if you were on your own T1 line..the units he will be testing has a 10 mile range..there are some with 25 mile ranges..and these things can be hooked up to repeaters etc to expand that range. Ultra high freq..no interferance..and plenty of bandwidth. I hope he is right sure would be nice..so I got to go look who is into wireless local loop stuff. Jim |
