Thank you for understanding that, Jack, as I am more right wing than I should be for my own good, and sometimes almost feel like I'm in a sci-fi movie dealing with androids when I hear the "I don't believe all this stuff about the environment, they're just manipulating facts for..." and I really don't know what Christians feel "enviromentalist" are manipulating facts for. I don't care what people think they're manipulating facts for. The fact is there are so few songbirds left they cannot possibly propagate themselves for more than a couple of breeding seasons. The frog and toad population is now statistically estimated to be down 40 to 90 (90!!!!!!!!!!) over the entire earth. I haven't heard locust singing in years. I miss them all. I can remember when I was little the evenings were a symphony of beautiful sounds, and always those dear little toad noises, and the singing of the locust. Just beautiful. THen about ten years ago I noticed I wasn't hearing very much. Now I hear practically nothing, and when I do I am horrified to realize it is one or two creatures making a small sound.
Don't get me going on that. But yes, I love God's creation. Whatever He wanted to accomplish by way of pleasing those made in His image, I can only say that it worked with me. And I have a few friends I can say the same thing about. The rest of people? I don't think they really notice very much. It's like it's all there, but it's kept from them. Perhaps the mystery of the creation is God revealed. I think it is a gift, given by God to those who will take it. Maybe. I don't know. I sure did understand your worrying about the little chicken. ANyway I hope I understood what I had to read so fast. That you were worried about a little chick. And yes, God uses the animals to teach us parables, or illustrate the meaning of parables. I believe totally and completely that part of heaven is getting all of our animals back. There's more than enough room in heaven for all those creatures there was never room for here. He does keep track of the sparrows that fall to the ground, I think, except it is beyond my ability to comprehend such a matter. |
